The first line of development of Industry 4.0 is the use of data, computing power and connectivity, and is structured in “big data, open data, Internet of Things, machine-to-machine and cloud computing” for the centralization of information and the related storage.
The second line of development is the one of analytics: once the data are collected, you have to get profit from them. Nowadays only 1% of gathered data are exploited by companies, which could instead obtain benefits from “machine learning”, i.e. from machineries perfecting their performance “learning” from the progressively collected and analyzed data.
The third line of development is the interaction between human and machine, involving “touch” interface and all of the work-process control instruments, as well as any application fields in terms of Quality management system.
